The development of intermodal transport remains, in 2021, one of the priorities of the French State (and also Europe) in terms of freight transport. Our client, a dynamic family owned company, is a pioneer and a recognized player in this sector which integrates several activities of this value chain: rental and trading of transport equipment, consulting, freight forwarder.

Our customer offers rental of containers, chassis, as well as several hundred new container wagons. The complementarity of these activities generates strong growth. In this context and for its head office based in Aix-en-Provence or a new agency in South Germany, and as part of strengthening its teams, we are currently recruiting:

 

A Senior sales / small BU Manager (Germany)

Intermodal equipment (H/F)

 

The position:
Under the responsibility of the Commercial Director, the Sales Engineer is in charge of ensuring the development of the company’s turnover in its sector of activity and the assigned geographical sector, in conquest and loyalty, in compliance with the commercial policy.

The services and products are:
✓ Equipment rental
✓ Sale of equipment
✓ Advice and training

Missions:
• Carry out prospecting actions: targeting, making appointments, reminders,
• Prepare and organize appointments
• Conduct sales interviews with prospects, customers
• Make visit reports
• Negotiate offers and commercial contracts
• Make sales while respecting the required margin rates and respecting the objectives set in the pricing
• Offer the equipment adapted to the customer’s request with the help of the Technical Department, respecting the conditions of insurance, circulation, legislation and product / equipment compatibility.
• Carry out loyalty actions (visits to existing customers at least once a year)
• Ensure commercial reporting to his line manager
• Participate in project groups by being able to suggest avenues for improvement of processes and / or
work tools (in particular the management of the technical database of wagons, axle stocks and spare
parts).

In terms of sales monitoring, you have to:
• Negotiate early contract ends (negotiate penalties) and ensure the smooth running and
administrative follow-up
• Monitor the evolution of the client’s financial situation and intervene at the request of the
Administrative Department
• Transmit to the Sales Assistant the elements allowing the realization of offers, contracts,
organization of transport and ensure the proper execution of his administrative tasks
• Ensure proper receipt of material by the customer
• Be present during load / unload tests organized by the customer
• Transmit to the Sales Assistant / ADV the information allowing the development of the CRM
• Enter all actions carried out in the CRM (outgoing call, call to plan, etc.)
• In terms of marketing, competitive intelligence, participate in exhibitions, prepare and organize
visits to exhibitions (in order to meet prospects & customers)
• Monitor and feedback “market” and “customer” information

You :
• You know the intermodal transport equipment sector (containers, chassis, intermodal wagons, etc.)
• You speak German, and also English fluently
• You are dynamic, organized and have a real talent for communication
• Your listening to customers makes you a valuable commercial interlocutor
• You have a spirit of synthesis and proven writing skills (commercial offers, visit reports, etc.)
• You are both autonomous and like teamwork
• You enjoy working on transversal projects and are a force for proposal
